Stay Clean By Being Green With McKinney

Hi, My name is Jordi McKinney and I am running for sustainability officer.

My reason for running for this role is due to me having a passion for a sustainable future and a clean future for the next generation. My experience includes working closely with heads of state at the G7 Summit in Cornwall in 2021, and the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2021 in Glasgow, through this experience, I was lucky enough to sit in the meetings about a Carbon Neutral future and the goal to reduce emissions in the world.

My main three points for this role is:

1. Battery bins to be available for students to promote recycling of batteries. 

2. Plant more Wildflower seeds around campus to combat this species being endangered.

3. Try and tackle light pollution on campus for hours where the core academic staff have gone home, this mainly focuses on lights in rooms being switched off when they are no longer in use.
