Senior Student Adviser
The Student Advisor delivers high-quality, empowering one-to-one advice to student members. Providing specialist advice through various channels ensuring students are supported, informed and represented. Contributing to the development and delivery of LTSU Advice and Wellbeing projects and identifying and communicating policy issues and trends to ensure we are always up to date.
Role Purpose:
To develop and increase engagement within the Union Advice Service. The post holder will deliver high quality advice and support elected officers in their advice related campaigns
Key Responsibilities
- To provide advice and advocacy support to students on academic and wellbeing issues and when appropriate signpost them to external services
- To support elected officers in their priority advice related campaigns
- To coordinate relevant Fairs and Events that fall under the remit of advice and support
- To develop our mental health project developing a peer to peer training service in this area
- To review and develop in partnership with the Engagement Manager and elected officers our advice provision
- To provide line management to Advice Team staff
Salary:
£28,000 pro rata
(0.6 of FTE three days a week)
Hours:
Part Time (three days a week), Permanent
Key Relationships:
Reports to: Engagement Manager
Responsible for: Student Advisor, Student Staff, Volunteers
Working closely with: Elected Officers, LTSU Staff, University Staff, NUS
